What our research says

Tunee

The conversational interface is a real answer to the main complaint about music generators — that describing what you want in one prompt box rarely gets you there. Having stems, mastering and a lip-synced video in the same place means you can finish a release rather than just make a demo. The cost is unknown, because the pricing page does not render its prices.

Pros

  • Conversational iteration with reference uploads instead of one-shot prompting
  • Stem separation, voice cloning and mastering alongside generation
  • Lip-synced music video generation with motion control
  • API keys and agent-platform skills for automation
  • Named operating company and jurisdiction, which is rare in this category

Cons

  • The pricing page shows no legible figures — only a billing toggle and a credits button
  • Credits sold next to subscriptions imply metered output, with no published rate
  • Voice cloning raises consent questions the site does not address on the landing page
  • Publishing to streaming platforms is offered without visible detail on rights handling

Udio

Udio still has the best arrangement tools of the prompt-to-song generators, with extend, inpaint and remix controls that let you shape a track rather than reroll it. Since the Universal settlement, though, what you make stays on Udio: no downloads and personal use only, which turns it from a production tool into a listening and sharing app until the licensed 2026 service and its terms arrive.

Pros

  • Section-level control: extend, precede, inpaint, variation and remix rather than generate-and-pray
  • Settled with Universal and licensed with Warner, which lowers the legal risk of the output itself
  • Free tier with daily credits lets you evaluate before paying
  • Mobile apps alongside the web app, per the terms' app clauses

Cons

  • Output cannot be downloaded and is limited to personal, non-commercial use under the current terms
  • Pricing is invisible without JavaScript, so plan limits must be checked inside the app
  • The licensed platform promised for 2026 had no public terms or launch details on the site today
  • No API, and no stated country or address beyond the corporate name in the terms

Which one fits

Choose Tunee if you need

  • Musicians who want to iterate on a track through dialogue rather than reprompting
  • Creators who need the song and its video from one tool
  • Agent builders wiring music generation into an automated pipeline

Choose Udio if you need

  • Hobbyists making songs to share inside the Udio community
  • Songwriters sketching arrangements and vocal ideas they will re-record elsewhere
  • Anyone who wants to iterate on structure with section-level edits rather than whole-song rerolls
