Use tool ↗About Truffle
Truffle sits inside Slack and watches how questions get answered in channels, then reuses that knowledge to answer similar questions automatically the next time someone asks. It can also turn accumulated question-and-answer threads into documentation, so institutional knowledge stops living only in people's memory or old thread history. The free plan covers one channel and fifteen answers a month; the paid plan at $199 a month removes the channel limit, adds access to private channels, and includes a fourteen-day trial with no card required upfront. A separate free community plan exists for non-profit Slack communities. It launched publicly in 2023 and has answered more than 23,000 questions since, founded by Alexander Freas.

Pros & cons of Truffle
A reasonable fit for a team tired of answering the same onboarding or process questions in Slack every week, since it learns from real past answers instead of a manually written FAQ. It only works inside Slack, so it isn't useful if a team's knowledge lives elsewhere.
Pros
- Learns from actual past Slack answers instead of requiring someone to write a FAQ from scratch
- Generates documentation as a byproduct of normal Slack conversation
- Free community plan removes cost for non-profit Slack communities
Cons
- Locked entirely to Slack; no support for other chat tools or a standalone knowledge base
- Free tier's 15-answer monthly cap is tight for any team above a handful of people
Best for
- Slack-based teams with repetitive onboarding or process questions
- Non-profit communities wanting a free tier
Not for
- Teams using Microsoft Teams, Discord, or another chat platform
- Organizations wanting a searchable wiki independent of chat history
Watch out: The free plan's 15-answer cap and single-channel limit will be outgrown quickly by any active team.
