Generates and edits real vector SVGs from prompts, with photo-to-vector conversion and an editor
SVGMaker generates vector graphics from a text prompt and, unlike tools that wrap a raster image in an SVG tag, hands back editable paths. It also edits existing SVGs by prompt, converts photos to vectors, strips backgrounds and text out of an SVG, and includes a manual editor with drawing tools and a colour editor. Exports cover SVG, PDF, EPS, AI, DXF, PNG, JPG, WebP plus JSX/React, HTML and CSS, which is aimed squarely at the Etsy, Cricut and Shopify sellers the site names. Everything is metered in credits. There is a REST API and an MCP server for Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. The operator is GenWave LLC of Sacramento, California.
Credit-based, not subscription. New accounts get 6 credits at signup and 3 more each day you log in, resetting at midnight; those free credits never expire. Paid credits are sold in packs whose prices are injected client-side and never appear in the page source, so no entry figure is recorded. Purchased credits expire one year after purchase and all credit purchases are non-refundable. A photo-to-SVG conversion costs 1 credit, prompt-editing an upload before conversion costs 3.
Use tool ↗SVGMaker is the rare prompt-to-vector tool that also gives you the editor and the conversion utilities around it, so a generated shape can be cleaned up rather than regenerated. The export list — DXF, EPS, JSX — tells you who it is for: craft-cutter and print sellers, and developers dropping icons into a component. The credit model is the thing to read carefully before buying.
Watch out: Commercial-use rights only attach once you have bought credits — anything made on the free daily allowance is personal-use only.
