What our research says

Rosie

Rosie fits small businesses that lose real revenue to missed calls and want a receptionist that never sleeps, without hiring one. It's self-funded and priced per-minute-bucket, so a business with unpredictable call volume needs to watch which tier they land in.

Pros

  • Trains itself from the business website and Google Business Profile
  • Direct calendar booking and call transfers on higher tiers
  • Every call comes with a recording, transcript, and summary
  • Free website chat widget included on all plans

Cons

  • Minutes are capped per tier; heavy call volume forces an upgrade
  • Only bilingual (English/Spanish), not broader multilingual support
  • Higher-tier features like priority transfers and white-glove onboarding are gated to the $299 plan

Zinng

Zinng does the thing a small business actually wants from an answering service: it books the appointment rather than taking a message, then follows up by text. The vertical integrations for dental, auto repair and lawn care are a real differentiator over generic voice agents. It is metered in call minutes and works only on US and Canadian numbers, so long calls and non-North-American businesses are poorly served.

Pros

  • Books directly into Calendly, Cal.com, Google Calendar or Outlook instead of only taking a message
  • Two-way SMS and warm transfer to a human are included in the base plan
  • Vertical integrations for dental, auto repair and lawn care systems, not just generic CRM
  • Entry bundle at $49 a month undercuts a part-time human answering service

Cons

  • Numbers are US and Canada only, so it cannot answer a line elsewhere
  • The iOS and Android apps are invite-only, leaving the web dashboard as day-to-day use
  • Overage behaviour past a minute bundle is not spelled out on the site
  • The dedicated /pricing page returns 404 and plan detail sits only on the homepage
