Pricing

- Paid
Pure pay-as-you-go: hardware is billed per second, from $0.000025/s ($0.09/hr) for a small CPU and $0.000225/s ($0.81/hr) for an Nvidia T4, and many models are priced per output instead, for example $0.025 per FLUX dev image. Private deployments bill for all the time instances are online, including idle time; no subscription or free tier is listed on the pricing page.
Use tool ↗About Replicate
Replicate hosts tens of thousands of AI models for image, video, audio and language work, each callable through one HTTP API or client libraries, with a web playground to try them first. Public models are billed by GPU time or per output (per image, per second of video, per token), and you can fine-tune image models, package your own model with the open-source Cog tool and serve it on a private deployment that scales with traffic. Developers use it to add generation, transcription or vision features to apps without running GPUs themselves. Cloudflare announced in November 2025 that Replicate was joining it, with the catalog coming to Workers AI and Replicate kept as its own brand and API.

Pros & cons of Replicate
Replicate is the quickest way for a developer to call a popular image, video or language model, or ship a custom one, without managing GPUs, and per-output pricing makes small workloads predictable. Teams with steady high volume, or who need their own cloud contracts, usually get better unit costs from dedicated GPU providers or the model makers' own APIs.
Pros
- Very large catalog of models behind one consistent API
- Per-output pricing on many models makes costs easy to estimate
- Fine-tuning and private deployments for custom models
- Cog tool for packaging and pushing your own models
Cons
- Private deployments bill for idle time while instances are up
- Cold starts can slow the first request to less-used models
- Costs at scale can exceed self-hosting or direct vendor APIs
Best for
- Developers prototyping with many different models through one API
- Startups adding image or video generation without running GPUs
- Teams packaging and serving custom models with Cog
Not for
- High-volume workloads where reserved GPUs are cheaper
- Non-technical users looking for a finished app rather than an API
Watch out: Private deployments charge for setup and idle time, not only for requests; set minimum instances to zero if traffic is bursty. Cloudflare agreed to acquire Replicate in November 2025; Replicate says its API stays the same, but roadmap and billing may shift toward Workers AI over time.
