Email and SMS marketing platform built for ecommerce stores, with popups and automated flows.
Privy is a marketing platform for ecommerce merchants that combines list-growth popups, drag-and-drop email campaigns, SMS messaging, and pre-built automation flows like welcome series and cart recovery. It plugs directly into Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix, and Squarespace, and reports revenue attribution back to each campaign. Privy is based in Boston and was founded in 2011; it acquired the SMS marketing company Emotive in 2025 to combine two-way texting with its existing email tools. Pricing scales with the number of contacts on a list rather than a flat seat fee.
The entry Email plan is $30 a month for up to 1,500 mailable contacts and includes 250 free SMS credits; cost rises with list size, and a separate popups-only plan is priced by monthly page views starting around $24 a month.
Use tool ↗Privy is a long-running ecommerce marketing tool rather than a new entrant, with list-growth popups as its most distinct feature next to more generic email/SMS competitors. Cost is tied to contact count, so it gets expensive as a list grows regardless of how active those contacts actually are.
Watch out: Get a quote for your actual contact count before committing, since the advertised entry price only covers up to 1,500 contacts.
