Open-source social scheduler for 30+ networks, with a public API, MCP and self-hosting.
Postiz schedules posts to more than thirty networks — Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Discord, Threads, Bluesky, Reddit, Mastodon and further down the long tail. It adds AI copy and image generation, a calendar, team collaboration and analytics. What separates it from Buffer and Hootsuite is that the whole thing is AGPL-3.0 on GitHub with Docker instructions, and the maintainer states there is currently no functional difference between the hosted and self-hosted versions. Developers get OAuth2, an SDK, a REST API and MCP access, so agents can post through it. Nevo David built and maintains it under the Gitroom banner; it launched as an open-source project in September 2024.
Self-hosting is free under AGPL-3.0. Hosted plans: Standard $29/month (5 channels, 400 posts), Team $39, Pro $49 (30 channels), Ultimate $99 (100 channels). Annual billing saves roughly 20%.
Use tool ↗The rare scheduler where the escape hatch is real: same code, AGPL licence, Docker compose, and the maintainer says the hosted build has no extra features. If the price rises or the project stalls you move to your own server. The cost is that you are relying on one maintainer, and the hosted entry plan at $29 is not cheap for five channels.
Watch out: AGPL-3.0 obliges you to publish source for network-facing modifications — check that before building a product on top of it.
