What our research says

Pop-Plan

Pop-Plan is a small, single-purpose tool for someone who wants a day's worth of activities suggested without doing the research themselves, not a full trip planner. The one-time five-dollar top-up instead of a subscription fits how infrequently most people plan a single day out.

Pros

  • Free tier is usable on its own, five real plans with no card required
  • One-time payment option instead of forcing a subscription
  • Pairs suggestions with an interactive map rather than just a text list

Cons

  • No company name, founder, or country disclosed anywhere on the site
  • Only covers single-day plans, not longer trips
  • Very small allotment of paid credits (10) for the $5 top-up before needing to pay again

Wonderplan

Fine as a free first draft for a trip you will still research yourself; it is not a booking tool and the suggestions gravitate to the obvious landmarks. Use it to kill the blank page, not to trust an address or an opening time.

Pros

  • Genuinely free with no paywall on the core planner
  • Itinerary is editable rather than a fixed block of generated text
  • PDF export makes the plan usable without signal
  • Fast enough to iterate through several destination options

Cons

  • No live pricing, availability or booking links you can act on
  • Recommendations repeat the same landmarks for popular cities
  • Two-person studio, so longevity and support are uncertain
  • No API, calendar sync or mobile app
