PhonePi MCP is a free, open-source bridge between AI assistants and an Android phone, built on the Model Context Protocol. Once the companion Android app is installed and connected over the same network or Tailscale, an MCP-compatible client such as Claude Desktop, Cursor, or Cline gets access to more than twenty phone actions: sending texts, placing calls, managing contacts, reading notifications, and storing snippets. It is a solo project by developer Priyankar Kumar, released under the MIT license with source published on GitHub, rather than a commercial product backed by a company. An iOS companion app is listed as still in development, so today it only works with Android phones.
