MIAPI is a developer API for grounded answers. You send a question, it searches the live web and returns synthesised prose with inline citations, source links and a confidence score, rather than a list of results to parse yourself. It adds a knowledge mode over your own documents, streaming, and separate news and image endpoints; it is OpenAI-compatible, ships Python and JavaScript SDKs, and offers a downloadable MCP server for Claude Desktop and Cursor. Queries are sold as one-time packs that never expire, on top of a small free allowance that refills monthly. Beyond a support address, the site names no company or country.

Pros & cons of MIAPI
A cheap, tidy alternative to the big answer APIs, with the two things that matter for grounding, citations and a confidence score, inside the response body and an OpenAI-compatible shape, so switching costs almost nothing. Query packs that never expire suit uneven traffic better than a subscription. What is missing is the vendor: no company name, no address and no country beyond a .uk domain, which is a hard sell for anything production-critical.
