Memo AI is a desktop app for macOS and Windows that transcribes local MP4, MP3, AAC and M4A files and pasted YouTube links on the user's own hardware, using NVIDIA, AMD or Apple Silicon GPUs; the vendor quotes about two minutes for a 30-minute file on an RTX 4090. Pros & cons of Memo AI
Memo AI is a local-first transcription app rather than the web service our earlier card described: files and YouTube links are processed on your own GPU, which is the right trade for interview, lecture and podcast transcripts you would rather not upload. The free tier is unusually complete, so the paid licences are closer to a tip jar with priority support than a feature unlock. Expect to bring your own model key for summaries and to live without a web or mobile client.
