What our research says

Luma Agents

Luma has folded Dream Machine into Luma Agents, a canvas where one agent dispatches work to its own Ray and Uni models and to rivals' models, so you are buying a workflow more than a model. That suits teams producing campaign variations across formats, less so someone who just wants the best text-to-video clip, where credits per second add up fast at 1080p. The API is the cleaner buy for developers: per-generation prices, no subscription.

Pros

  • Own video models (Ray3.2, Ray3.14) and image model (Uni-1) plus third-party models in one workspace
  • Consistency tools for characters and brand assets across variations
  • API with published per-generation prices from $0.15 for a 540p five-second clip and no commitment on the Build plan
  • Audio generation, lip sync, transcription and captions built into the same canvas

Cons

  • No free plan listed on the pricing page, and the cheapest plan is $30 a month
  • Credits expire at the end of each month, and 1080p video costs 80 credits a second
  • The Dream Machine name and the iOS app have disappeared from the site, so older guides no longer match
  • The API's provisioned-throughput minimum is stated inconsistently (4 versus 8 units)

Motiofy

Motiofy gives you more direction than a one-click image-to-video button: plain-English motion prompts, start and end frame pinning, a reference image and a choice of several current video models under one credit balance. Since the last check it added month-to-month billing, which removes the main objection to trying it, though 4K still starts at the $40 Creator tier and credits expire at the end of each period.

Pros

  • Several current video models selectable per job behind one credit balance
  • Start/end frame pinning and reference images make results more predictable
  • 20 free trial credits with no card to judge the output
  • Monthly billing now available alongside the discounted yearly plan

Cons

  • 720p cap on the $20 Starter tier; 4K needs Creator at $40 a month
  • Credits expire at the end of each billing period and do not roll over
  • Trial credits are non-commercial only
  • No API, no legal entity and no country published

Which one fits

Choose Luma Agents if you need

  • Creative teams producing many on-brand variations of video, image and audio from one brief
  • Agencies that want Ray, Veo, Kling and Seedance behind a single canvas and one bill
  • Developers who want Ray3.2 video and Uni-1.1 images through a pay-per-generation API

Choose Motiofy if you need

  • Creators who want start/end-frame and reference-image control over an animated still
  • E-commerce and ad teams turning product shots into short clips without learning each model's own interface
  • Anyone who wants to compare Kling, Seedance, MiniMax and Wan output without separate subscriptions
