What our research says

Krikey AI

The genuinely useful part is still FBX export: video-to-motion without a mocap suit, now at $15 a month for 165 credits. Since AI features are metered in credits and a custom 3D avatar alone costs 40 of them, treat it as an animation source feeding your real pipeline rather than a high-volume video factory; the results still look like stock 3D avatars.

Pros

  • FBX export means the motion leaves the platform and lands in Unity, Unreal or Blender
  • video-to-animation removes the need for mocap hardware or a suit
  • exports are unlimited and do not spend credits
  • runs inside Canva, ChatGPT and Adobe Express, which cuts down tool switching

Cons

  • the avatar library gives everything a recognisably similar look
  • AI features are now credit-metered, so heavy use pushes you to Teams or Enterprise
  • video-to-motion input is limited to 15-second clips with at most three people
  • no public API found for batch or programmatic generation

Move AI

The realistic route to usable mocap when a suit-and-volume studio is out of budget: Move One turns a phone clip into animation data for less than a team lunch. Treat Genesis as a capital purchase rather than a subscription, because you are also buying a Z Cam rig and a GPU in the $3,000 class.

Pros

  • Free plan gives 30 credits that never expire, enough to judge output quality before paying
  • Self-serve entry at $18/month keeps single-camera work genuinely cheap
  • Two product lines cover both a phone clip and an eight-person volume
  • Named production users including Ubisoft, Paramount and Disney

Cons

  • Monthly credits are use-it-or-lose-it, with overage billed separately on top
  • Prices are quoted excluding VAT, so UK and EU buyers pay above the sticker
  • Genesis has no published price; the on-site configurator shows 'Contact us' until you talk to sales
  • Clip length is capped at 30 seconds free and 60 seconds on paid plans

Which one fits

Choose Krikey AI if you need

  • extracting reusable motion clips from ordinary phone video
  • teachers and students making explainer animation with no 3D background
  • game and XR prototyping that needs placeholder character motion

Choose Move AI if you need

  • Indie game studios needing character animation without a mocap stage
  • Previz and animatics generated from reference footage
  • Sports and biomechanics analysis from video already shot
