Custom iPhone keyboard that rewrites, replies and drafts with AI inside whatever app you are typing in.
KAI is a third-party iOS keyboard that puts an AI assistant one tap from the keys, so rewriting a message or drafting a reply happens in place rather than in a separate chat app. It offers contextual suggestions, tone and professional-writing modes, a dating mode for message drafting, and multilingual support covering English, Russian and Ukrainian. It is a one-developer product, published on the App Store by Akshat Giri LLC, free to install with an All Access purchase to unlock the full feature set. The listing has not shipped an update since version 2.1 in November 2023, which is a long silence in this category.
Free to install. The App Store lists two All Access in-app purchases, $4.99 and $39.99, without labelling billing periods; the pair reads as monthly and annual but neither the listing nor the site confirms it.
Use tool ↗A keyboard is the right shape for this problem — you rewrite the message where you are typing it instead of copying into a chat app and back. KAI does that, cheaply. The problem is age: the last update was November 2023, and an AI product frozen for that long is running on whatever model it shipped with.
Watch out: Granting an AI keyboard full access hands it everything you type, including passwords typed outside a password manager.
