Inkflow

A generate-and-export pipeline for people who publish non-fiction in quantity, priced by how many books you produce rather than per seat. What it does not give you is a writing environment: there is no revision history and no structural editing, so anything beyond light touch-ups happens in Word.

Pros

  • Generates a full manuscript from a title plus chapter list, not just chapter-at-a-time drafts
  • Exports to both PDF and DOCX so the file is usable outside the tool
  • Does blog posts from the same engine, with unlimited posts on the upper tier
  • Pricing is stated per book and per post, so the cost of a title is predictable

Cons

  • No editor worth the name: no revision history, no restructuring, no track changes
  • No free tier, so the first look at output quality costs $19
  • The company behind it is not named on the site itself

Youbooks

Youbooks is one of the few tools that treats a whole book as the unit of work instead of stitching chapters together by hand, and grounding it in your uploaded sources is the right call for non-fiction. The credit model is the thing to watch: a long book eats an allowance quickly, and the generation runs for days. Fiction is explicitly out of scope.

  • Trains a voice model so chapters read closer to your own writing
  • Exports to DOCX, EPUB, Markdown and RTF rather than locking output in
