macOS dictation app: hold a shortcut, speak, and cleaned-up text lands in whatever app is focused
Heynds is a Mac-only dictation tool. A keyboard shortcut captures your voice anywhere in the system, transcribes it and tidies the result into finished text before pasting it into the app you are already in, so it works the same in Slack, Notion, Gmail, Figma or Teams. It also rewrites existing text rather than only transcribing. The vendor claims over 100 languages and routes model calls through OpenRouter using zero-data-retention endpoints, which is the extent of the privacy story on offer. It is built by a solo developer, Pierre Mouchan; the privacy policy is written to GDPR and states plainly that no legal entity or postal address is published yet.
One consumer plan, Explorer, at $3.99/month with the first month free. An enterprise tier with dedicated support is quoted on request. There is no permanent free tier.
