What our research says

Fotor

Fotor is a practical pick for small businesses and creators who want quick retouching, background swaps and template designs in one browser tab, with access to many generation models on a single credit balance. Heavy generators should do the credit math per model, and professionals who need layered editing will still want Photoshop or Affinity.

Pros

  • Broad set of editing and generation tools in one browser app
  • Batch background removal and replacement on paid plans
  • Many third-party image and video models on one credit system
  • Developer API for background removal, enhancement and generation

Cons

  • Video generation on premium models burns credits fast (up to about 250 per 8-second clip)
  • Prices are not readable without loading the page in a browser, and plans are shown per month billed annually
  • Free plan is heavily limited in credits, storage and export quality

MimicPhoto

The published credit table is the reason to take it seriously: you can price a job in advance instead of discovering the cost after burning a month's quota. The gap is on the vendor side, where no company entity, jurisdiction or team is named anywhere on the site.

Pros

  • Full per-tool credit cost table published before purchase
  • One subscription covers image and video tools alike
  • Several tools, including background removal and colourisation, are free
  • Annual plan cuts the monthly rate to about $8.30

Cons

  • Video is expensive in credits: 75 for a five-second clip eats most of a monthly allowance
  • No API, so everything is manual in the browser
  • No company name, address or country disclosed
  • Credits do not obviously roll over; the FAQ question exists but the answer is not on the page
