What our research says

Devin

Devin is the agent to hand a whole ticket to and walk away from, and the $20 Pro tier makes that affordable to try for the first time. The quota is the catch: a long autonomous session can exhaust a plan quickly, and once it does you are paying API rates, so it suits teams that batch well-scoped tasks rather than developers who want a tireless pair programmer in the loop.

Pros

  • End-to-end autonomy: plans, codes, tests and opens the pull request from its own cloud machine
  • Fans one large task out across parallel agents and manages them itself
  • Native Slack, Linear, Jira and GitHub integration plus Desktop and CLI clients
  • Entry price dropped to $20 a month, far below the original enterprise-only positioning

Cons

  • Quotas are described only qualitatively ('light', 'generous'), so cost per task is hard to predict
  • Overage is billed at API pricing, which is where a runaway agent session gets expensive
  • Team tier adds a flat $80 a month on top of $40 per full user
  • Pages are heavily client-rendered; the terms live on cognition.com, not devin.ai

Nebula

Nebula is now a shared workspace where people and AI agents sit in the same channels: you post a goal, its orchestrator splits the work between Claude Code, Codex and its own agents, and the team reviews the result together. It makes most sense for small teams that already pay for coding agents and want them working alongside colleagues rather than in separate terminals; at $25 a seat for everyone, including the owner, it is a poor fit for a solo user who only wants an automation runner.

Pros

  • Bring-your-own Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Gemini CLI or Cursor CLI agents at no extra Nebula charge
  • Messaging, calls, web research and a cloud computer included in the seat price
  • Desktop apps for Mac, Windows and Linux plus iPhone, Android and a CLI
  • Credits pause for top-up approval instead of running up an unexpected bill

Cons

  • The free workspace is gone; evaluation is a 7-day trial
  • Every member, including the owner, needs a $25 seat
  • Nebula's own agents draw on separate credits, so heavy use costs more than the seat price

Which one fits

Choose Devin if you need

  • Engineering teams delegating well-specified tickets such as migrations, test coverage and dependency upgrades
  • Organisations that want agents assigned from Slack, Linear or Jira and reviewed as pull requests
  • Large codebases where a task can be fanned out across parallel cloud agents

Choose Nebula if you need

  • Small product teams that want Claude Code or Codex working inside team channels
  • Startups mixing engineering and go-to-market work and wanting one place to delegate both
  • Teams that already pay for Claude or ChatGPT and want to reuse those subscriptions
