AskCodi
AskCodi is no longer the in-editor coding assistant it was first listed as: it now sells an autonomous agent service that scopes, builds and maintains apps with your sign-off at each step, plus an OpenAI-compatible model gateway billed from the same token balance. It suits founders and freelancers who want delegated, reviewable delivery with transparent token pricing; developers who want an assistant they steer line by line inside their editor should look at Cursor or GitHub Copilot instead.
Pros
- Pricing is public and plain: each paid plan returns its full price as tokens at $1.25 per million
- Free tier of 1 million tokens a month with no card, and work pauses at the cap instead of billing overage
- Work is gated by a written scope and per-delivery sign-off, with run receipts showing checks passed and spend
- One balance covers agent runs and gateway calls usable from Cline, Continue, Zed and similar tools
Cons
- The 2026 pivot means many reviews and tutorials still describe the older coding assistant
- Token use per agent job is hard to predict before running real work
- Desktop app is early (version 0.0.86 seen) and has no Linux build yet
