What our research says

Clico

Clico has moved from a Mac screen assistant to a multi-model creative studio, and the pitch is now breadth: one credit pool buys chat with 27 models plus image, video and simple site generation, while the Mac app keeps the screen-context trick. That makes it a cheaper way to sample many models than several separate subscriptions. The cost is depth — each generator is a thin layer over someone else's model — and video eats credits fast.

Pros

  • One credit pool across web, Chrome extension and Mac app
  • All 27 current chat models on Pro, including frontier models from several vendors
  • Mac app answers about the chosen screen with hold-Fn voice input
  • Free tier of 200 credits a month with no card

Cons

  • Desktop app is Mac only
  • Credit costs vary by model, resolution and length, so usage is hard to predict
  • Terms page is marked as an unpublished draft

Poe

Poe makes sense if you want to compare frontier models side by side without paying each vendor, and the custom-bot layer is a cheap way to publish a prompt as a product. The catch is the points meter: one subscription buys wildly different quantities of use depending on which bot you pick, and per-bot costs are Poe's to change, so the plan you buy is not necessarily the plan you keep.

Pros

  • One subscription spans models from several vendors plus image and video generators
  • Custom bots can be built from a prompt and shared or monetised
  • Apps on web, iOS, Android, Mac and Windows
  • A creator API exists for developers

Cons

  • Points pricing makes real capacity hard to predict across models
  • Per-bot point costs and allowances are set by Poe and change over time
  • The home page blocks automated access and the subscription page shows regional prices, so USD figures could not be confirmed from the vendor
  • No team or enterprise tier is visible

Which one fits

Choose Clico if you need

  • People who want many chat and image models under one subscription
  • Mac users who ask questions about whatever is on screen
  • Light image, video and landing-page experiments without separate tools

Choose Poe if you need

  • People who want several vendors' models under one login and one bill
  • Creators publishing custom bots without hosting anything
  • Comparing model answers side by side before committing to one vendor
