Use tool ↗About CartoVoxel
CartoVoxel takes a real place — you draw the area in the browser — and generates a Minecraft world from it, carrying over terrain elevation, road layout and building footprints. Rendering happens in the cloud and the finished world arrives by email as a Java .zip or Bedrock .mcworld file, so nothing has to be installed. An optional Explorer Pack adds landmark labels and treasure hunts, though only for Java Edition. Pricing scales with area: the smallest tier starts at $3.50, a 3.5 square kilometre selection is quoted at $8.50, and the Explorer Pack adds $7.90.

Pros & cons of CartoVoxel
Doing the conversion in the cloud and mailing the world file is the right shape for this — the alternative tools want you to install a toolchain to render a city once. Paying per area rather than by subscription matches how people use it, and supporting both Java and Bedrock covers the split in the player base.
Pros
- Runs entirely in the browser with no downloads
- Exports for both Java and Bedrock editions
- Carries terrain, roads and building placement
- Pay per world rather than a subscription
Cons
- Explorer Pack is Java Edition only
- Cost rises with the area selected
- No country of operation disclosed
Best for
- Players wanting their own city or town in Minecraft
- Teachers building a recognisable local map for a class
- Anyone avoiding a local rendering toolchain
Not for
- Players wanting continuous or unlimited generation
- Bedrock users who want the Explorer Pack extras
Watch out: Price scales with the area you draw, so a whole city costs considerably more than the headline tier suggests.
