What our research says

Brandwatch

Brandwatch is the research-grade end of social listening: the archive, the segmentation and the analyst tooling are built for insight teams at large brands, and the Cision tie-in matters if PR and comms already run on that stack. Small marketing teams who want to schedule posts and glance at mentions will pay enterprise money for a fraction of what they use, and the suite is still visibly three acquired products stitched together.

Pros

  • Historical archive and custom segmentation go deeper than most listening tools
  • Listening, publishing and influencer modules under one vendor and contract
  • Search-and-generative-AI monitoring added to the suite for tracking brand presence in AI answers
  • APIs and integrations are published as part of the suite

Cons

  • Quote-only pricing with no trial; evaluation means a sales cycle
  • The suite is three acquired products (Brandwatch, Falcon, Paladin) with differing interfaces
  • Terms and contracts route through the Cision master agreement, so you are buying from the group
  • Data coverage depends on platform APIs that have narrowed (X, Reddit) and is not fully listed

SentiOne

SentiOne is a European alternative to the big listening suites, with the unusual twist that the same company sells you the bots that answer what the listening finds. Pricing for Listen is published, which is rare in this category, and the history depth and language count are what actually move the price. Automate is a sales-led project, so treat the two halves as separate purchases.

Pros

  • Listen pricing is published tier by tier instead of hidden behind a demo
  • History depth scales from one month to 36 months across the tiers
  • Cloud and on-premise deployment are both offered
  • Billing available in six currencies, including PLN, CZK and HUF

Cons

  • A demo is required before you can test the platform
  • The entry tier covers one project in one language, which most brands outgrow immediately
  • Automate has no published pricing and carries a one-time implementation fee on top of subscription

Which one fits

Choose Brandwatch if you need

  • Consumer-insight and research teams that need a deep historical archive and audience segmentation
  • Enterprise marketing groups already on Cision for PR who want listening in the same contract
  • Agencies running influencer campaigns alongside listening for several brand clients

Choose SentiOne if you need

  • European brands wanting listening hosted under EU infrastructure
  • Teams that need historical archive depth rather than just live mentions
  • Organisations pairing monitoring with a customer service bot from one vendor
