What our research says

Blackbox AI

Worth a look if your security team blocks shared AI infrastructure and you can commit annual spend for discounted per-token rates across many models. The catch is that the product has repositioned around enterprise procurement, so individuals and small teams have no published plan to buy.

Pros

  • One endpoint for 300+ open and closed models with prompt caching and streaming
  • End-to-end encryption and zero data retention written into the contract
  • Published per-token sample rates are aggressive for the listed models
  • Implementation support and a dedicated engineer are bundled into enterprise deals

Cons

  • Only route to buy is a committed annual purchase order
  • The pivot leaves the former consumer coding product's status unclear
  • Performance and cost claims on the homepage are self-reported

Zzzcode

Free, no install, no signup needed to use it - the tools are shallow individually but the coverage is wide and the per-language landing pages make them easy to reach from a search. The .NET data-access tools are the genuinely differentiated part, because the people who built it also build Dapper Plus and EF Extensions. Everything else is a thin wrapper you could get from a general chatbot.

Pros

  • Genuinely free with no plan, quota, or checkout anywhere on the site
  • Wide language coverage with a dedicated page per language and per task
  • Specialised Dapper and EF Core tooling from the team that maintains those libraries
  • Optional account for history rather than a required signup

Cons

  • Single-snippet scope - no project context, no repository awareness
  • No company country, address, or terms page published
  • Funded by sponsorship of the vendor's commercial libraries, so continuity depends on that
  • No IDE integration, no API, and no export beyond copy and paste

Which one fits

Choose Blackbox AI if you need

  • Enterprises that need single-tenant inference with contractual zero data retention
  • Platform teams consolidating many model providers behind one OpenAI-compatible endpoint
  • Organizations running coding agents that must stay inside controlled infrastructure

Choose Zzzcode if you need

  • Quick one-off code explanations without opening an IDE plugin
  • Dapper and EF Core work - entity/table conversion, seed data, stored procedures
  • Students and beginners who cannot pay for a coding assistant
