Worth keeping as a private, ad-free second opinion next to Google, and it genuinely predates most of the AI-search wave. Answer depth and follow-up reasoning still sit behind Perplexity, and with no API and no paid tier there is nothing to build a workflow on.

The API option is a real differentiator for anyone wanting to build search on top of it rather than just use the web app.
