Use tool ↗About AltTextLab
AltTextLab reads an image in context and writes alt text meant to serve screen readers and image search at once, in more than 130 languages, optionally working in a list of target keywords. It connects to WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce, Webflow, Drupal, Magento and other CMS and store platforms, ships Chrome, Firefox and Edge extensions, and offers a REST API and a one-line web snippet for custom sites, so a whole image library can be processed in bulk. Every account, free included, can cover any number of websites; paid credits roll over. The service is registered in Poland and run by its founder, Andrei Zanouski.

Pros & cons of AltTextLab
A practical fix for sites with large image libraries and no realistic path to writing alt text by hand. The 25 free credits a month are enough to try it on a small batch, but any site with more than a couple hundred images will need a paid plan or a credit pack fairly quickly.
Pros
- Native integrations for WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce, and about 20 other platforms
- Bulk processing so an entire image library can be run at once
- Both subscription and pay-as-you-go pricing, so light users are not forced onto a plan
Cons
- The legal entity behind the service is not named, only that it is registered in Poland
- Credits are consumed per image, so cost scales directly with catalog size
- No information available on how accurate the alt text is for visually complex images
Best for
- E-commerce stores with large, alt-text-less product catalogs
- Publishers who need accessibility-compliant alt text at scale
- Agencies managing image SEO across many client sites
Not for
- Sites with only a handful of images, where writing alt text by hand is faster than integrating a tool
- Anyone needing alt text with brand-specific tone that generic AI captions will not capture
