AgentGPT vs SuperAGI

Two fact sheets from our own research, side by side — pricing, platforms, API access and status re-checked by us rather than quoted from the vendors. AgentGPT publishes a starting price ($40); SuperAGI does not. Only AgentGPT has a free tier.

What our research says

AgentGPT

AgentGPT is the quickest way to watch goal-decomposition agents work without installing anything, and the GPL-3.0 source makes it a useful teaching artifact. The catch is that it is frozen in time: the repo was archived in January 2026 and the hosted app is still wired to 2023-era models.

Pros

  • Runs in the browser with no install or API key wrangling for the free tier
  • Full source under GPL-3.0, so it can be forked and self-hosted
  • Templates make the goal-to-task pattern easy to see
  • Clear published plan page rather than sales-call-only pricing

Cons

  • GitHub repository archived in January 2026; last code push was April 2025
  • Pricing page still sells GPT-3.5-Turbo and GPT-4 era capabilities
  • Reworkd sunset its commercial data-extraction product, so the company's focus has moved on

SuperAGI

Do not come here for the open-source agent framework — that project has been dormant since early 2025 and the company is now a sales-automation vendor. As an AI SDR stack it is credible but sits in a crowded field against Clay and Artisan, and the opaque pricing makes it hard to evaluate without a call.

Pros

  • Contact database, research and sequencing bundled instead of stitched from three vendors
  • An in-product skill/app store means new agent behaviours ship without a release cycle
  • Chrome extension for working prospects directly from LinkedIn
  • Real engineering history — the OSS framework drew over 17k GitHub stars

Cons

  • The open-source project that built the brand's reputation is effectively abandoned
  • Pricing is not readable without JavaScript and not published in plain terms
  • Adopting the AI-native CRM is a heavy migration for an unproven agent layer
  • No vendor-marketed developer API for building on top

Which one fits

Choose AgentGPT if you need

  • Trying the autonomous-agent loop concept with zero setup
  • Students and educators who want readable open-source agent code
  • Teams self-hosting a simple agent runner they intend to fork

Choose SuperAGI if you need

  • Outbound teams wanting list building, research and sequencing under one vendor
  • Startups replacing a junior SDR seat rather than adding tooling around one
  • Teams willing to move CRM rather than bolt agents onto Salesforce
