What our research says

Agenta

Agenta is in transition from an LLMOps tool to an agent workspace, which makes it interesting for teams that want shared agents with tracing and evaluation baked in, and open source underneath. If you only need prompt management and evals, check that the current product still fits that narrower job. The MIT licence and self-hosting option lower the lock-in risk.

Pros

  • MIT-licensed core that can be self-hosted with Docker
  • Free cloud tier plus a $29 Pro plan
  • Human-approval controls for agent actions
  • Tracing, usage and version history for every agent

Cons

  • The product direction changed recently, so older tutorials may not match the interface
  • Free cloud tier limits team members to two and trace retention to one week
  • Runs beyond the included allowance are billed per 10,000

PrompTessor

Most prompt tools are either a generator or a shared library; this one does both plus reverse-prompting from media, which is the feature people actually hunt for when they want to reproduce someone else's image style. Tiers differ only by usage count, so the free tier tells you honestly whether the output is any good. Manual renewal instead of auto-billing is a small but real courtesy.

Pros

  • Reverse-prompting works from images, video, URLs and text, not just text
  • Versioned, searchable prompt library with history
  • Token estimation and usage tracking built in
  • Web, iOS and Chrome extension covered, with a genuinely free tier

Cons

  • No API, so nothing here can be automated from code
  • All paid tiers are the same product at different quotas — no reason to go above Pro unless you burn through runs
  • No company name or country disclosed

  • Developers who need tracing, evals and versioned agent configuration in one open-source stack
  • Companies wanting to self-host agents with their own models and credentials

Choose PrompTessor if you need

  • People maintaining a reusable prompt library across projects
  • Recreating the prompt behind an image or video you liked
  • Teams standardising prompts rather than pasting them in chat
