What our research says

Adobe Firefly

Pick Firefly when the indemnity and the Creative Cloud integration matter more than raw image quality, because on quality alone it trails Midjourney and the frontier models.

Pros

  • Trained on licensed and public-domain material with enterprise indemnity attached
  • Generative Fill inside Photoshop beats round-tripping through another tool
  • Produces editable vectors rather than only raster images
  • Standard image and vector generation is uncapped on paid plans

Cons

  • Image quality lags the top standalone generators
  • Generative credits drain fast on video and premium partner models
  • Pricing is split confusingly between standalone plans and Creative Cloud bundles
  • Free tier watermarks output and allows very few credits

Design0

Design0 is now a grab-bag of small guided generators, for app icons, coloring pages, tattoo and amigurumi concepts, plus background removal and upscaling, rather than the masking image editor it started as. The guided brief for app icons is the most distinctive part; the free coloring generator works but its results are public and personal-use only. Credit prices are not shown until you are about to pay, and the operator is a single developer.

Pros

  • Guided app-icon brief proposes colors, styles and ideas before generating
  • Free coloring page generator and a printable library need no payment
  • Studio images carry personal and commercial rights that survive after credits run out
  • Background remover and upscaler sit in the same toolbox

Cons

  • No public price list; credit costs only appear before a paid request
  • Free generator results are public and limited to personal, non-commercial use
  • Run by a single named developer rather than a company

Which one fits

  • Teams working inside Photoshop, Illustrator or Premiere who want generation in place
  • Brands that need the commercial-use indemnification Adobe offers enterprises

Choose Design0 if you need

  • Indie developers who need an app icon from a written product brief
  • Parents and teachers printing free coloring pages for personal use
  • Coloring-book sellers who want commercial rights on generated pages
