What our research says

Ada

Ada is a sales-led enterprise platform: the fit is a support operation with hundreds of thousands of conversations a year and the systems integrations to let an agent actually act. Nobody at that scale will mind that the price lives behind a demo call, but a startup support team looking for a chatbot in an afternoon should look elsewhere. Ten years of doing this and a four-billion-interaction track record are the reasons to take the demo.

Pros

  • Covers voice, messaging and email from one platform rather than chat alone
  • Agents act in connected systems, not just answer from a knowledge base
  • Founded 2016 with a stated four billion interactions and named enterprise customers
  • Documented API, MCP server and an integrations catalogue for developers

Cons

  • No public pricing or self-serve plan; every engagement starts with a demo
  • The vendor's own positioning is enterprise scale, so small volumes are a poor fit
  • Site rejects automated fetches with HTTP 403, so facts are harder to verify

Ushur

Built for the narrow case of moving regulated customer paperwork by message rather than by call centre, and the compliance scaffolding around it is the reason it wins those deals. The trade-off is that it is a sold-and-implemented enterprise platform: nothing about it is self-serve, and you learn the price only after a demo.

Pros

  • Single agent runs across SMS, RCS, voice, email and a hosted micro web app
  • No-code studio aimed at business users rather than developers
  • Prebuilt connectors for Salesforce, ServiceNow, Zendesk, Slack and Dynamics 365
  • HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR and HITRUST attestations stated on the site

Cons

  • No pricing published at any tier
  • Enterprise sales cycle with demo gating before you see the product
  • Vertical focus on insurance, healthcare and financial services makes it a poor fit elsewhere

  • Insurers and health plans automating enrolment, claims intake and member outreach
  • Teams that need an audit trail on every automated customer interaction
  • Operations groups that want business users, not engineers, editing the flows
