UX Design GPT

A free, single-creator custom GPT for talking through design-thinking steps rather than a maintained product with a roadmap. It is worth a try for brainstorming since it costs nothing, but do not expect the depth or support of a dedicated UX tool.

Pros

  • Free to use, with an optional pay-what-you-want donation
  • Structured around a recognized design-thinking framework
  • No separate account or platform beyond ChatGPT itself needed

Cons

  • Very little public documentation of what the GPT's instructions actually cover
  • Single-creator project with no visible update history or support channel
  • Produces conversation and suggestions only, not design artifacts

Visily

Visily is for the person who has to show a screen tomorrow and does not have a designer: screenshot in, editable wireframe out, with enough prototyping and commenting to run a review. It is not a replacement for Figma for anyone shipping polished UI, and the free tier's watermark and two-board cap make it a trial rather than a workspace. At $14 an editor the Pro plan is cheap enough that the credit meter, not the price, is what to watch.

Pros

  • Screenshot, diagram and text to editable screens, plus auto-prototyping
  • Real-time collaboration with comments, cursor chat and follower mode
  • Figma import and export, export to code and an MCP server from the $14 Pro plan
  • Free Starter plan with 300 monthly credits is enough to evaluate the generator

Cons

  • Free exports are watermarked and 1x only, with just two editable boards
  • AI generation is credit-metered, so heavy iteration on Pro's 3,000 credits can run out mid-sprint
  • Business plan is annual-only, and the FAQ admits Business and Enterprise requirements are still being designed
  • No address on the site; only the legal entity and Georgia governing law in the terms
