What our research says

Rytr

Rytr is the option you pick when the budget is the constraint and the copy is short and disposable. Anyone whose output has to carry a brand or rank in search will outgrow it inside a month.

Pros

  • Genuinely cheap, at roughly a quarter to a third of what comparable writers charge
  • Unlimited generations from the entry paid tier, not metered credits
  • Plagiarism checking is bundled rather than sold as an add-on

Cons

  • The documented API endpoint no longer resolves and the API is not listed on any published plan
  • Free tier's 10,000 characters is exhausted in a handful of generations
  • Only one language on Free and Unlimited, 35+ is gated behind the $29 tier
  • No published company entity or jurisdiction anywhere on the site

Simplified

Worth it only if you genuinely retire three or four other subscriptions when you sign up; as a standalone writer or standalone design tool it is expensive and outclassed by specialists. Model your monthly campaign count before you buy, because that is the meter.

Pros

  • One brand kit carries across copy, design and scheduling, which removes most asset hand-offs
  • Twelve-plus native publishing integrations, so scheduling does not need a second product
  • Documented API, CLI and MCP server, unusual for a marketing suite in this price band
  • Approval step before publishing fits agency-client workflows

Cons

  • No free plan any more; the free option is a Starter trial
  • Campaign metering (5 on Starter) is easy to exhaust and overages cost $10 each
  • Each individual module is weaker than the category leader it is meant to replace
  • Starter caps you at one seat, seven social accounts and one brand kit

Which one fits

Choose Rytr if you need

  • Solo operators and small teams generating high-volume, low-stakes short copy
  • Product descriptions, ad variants and social captions where volume beats polish
  • Testing whether AI copy helps at all before committing to a $40+ tool

Choose Simplified if you need

  • Small marketing teams replacing a writer plus a design tool plus a scheduler
  • Agencies running repeatable social calendars across several brands
  • Solo founders who need copy, graphics and publishing behind one login
  • Teams that want a human approval gate before posts go live
