Use tool ↗About PDFQuiz
PDFQuiz accepts a file up to 20 MB — PDF, DOCX, PPTX, ODT, plain text or an image — and generates multiple-choice, true/false and fill-in-the-blank questions from it, each with the correct answer and a short explanation. OCR handles scanned pages and phone photos of handwritten notes. Quizzes can be shared by link, timed, graded automatically, edited by hand, downloaded as PDF or exported as Anki decks for spaced repetition, and the interface runs in more than 25 languages. Paid tiers layer on open-ended questions, tracked invitations, AI scoring of written answers, certificates and white-labelling. No company name or legal entity appears anywhere on the site.

Pros & cons of PDFQuiz
A focused document-to-quiz tool that does the boring parts well: OCR on scans, explanations with every answer, and an Anki export so the questions outlive the site. Entry pricing is genuinely cheap if you accept annual billing. The awkward part is the metering — quotas are counted in characters converted, which is hard to plan against — and the operator publishes no company details at all.
Pros
- Accepts eleven-plus file types including scans and photos, with OCR
- Exports to Anki and PDF rather than locking questions inside the site
- Shareable graded quizzes with a timer and invitation tracking
- Interface localised into more than 25 languages
- Every generated answer comes with an explanation
Cons
- Quotas are counted in characters converted per month, which is opaque
- API access, Zapier and white-labelling sit only on the $38/month Elite tier
- The 20 MB per-file cap rules out full textbooks
- No company name, address or legal entity published anywhere
Best for
- Students turning lecture notes and textbook chapters into self-tests
- Teachers building quick assessments from existing handouts
- Anyone who studies from scanned or photographed material
Not for
- Teams needing live classroom gameplay with leaderboards
- Buyers who require a named vendor with a published legal entity
Watch out: The advertised $5 Plus price requires paying $60 up front for a year; month-to-month it is $9.
