Noctie is a chess coach built around an engine that imitates human play instead of calculating to maximum depth. It was trained on billions of human games, so its opening choices, mistakes and even move timings resemble a player at whatever rating you set. Around that sit the training features: opening practice against a repertoire you define, custom positions, puzzles generated from your own mistakes, move-by-move feedback, lessons and daily challenges. The company is Noctie AB, a Swedish entity whose notice runs from 2021. Apps ship for iOS and Android as well as the browser, and every plan opens with a seven-day trial.
