What our research says

Nabla

A credible ambient scribe for clinics that want the note, the codes and dictation from one vendor and already live in Epic or athenahealth. The trial is self-serve, which is rare in this category, but the price is not: anything beyond a solo trial means a sales conversation, and the real evaluation is how much editing the drafts need in your specialty.

Pros

  • Note, E/M and ICD-10 coding suggestions and dictation in one workflow
  • Named EHR integrations including Epic, athenahealth, Oracle and NextGen
  • Web, iOS, Android, Chrome extension and API, so it fits several clinic setups
  • Free trial through the app rather than demo-only access

Cons

  • No published pricing; the pricing page returns 404
  • Coding suggestions still need clinician review, so time savings depend on specialty and note style
  • Company fields such as legal entity are not stated on the site, only office addresses in Paris and Brooklyn

Suki

Suki competes with Abridge and Microsoft's Dragon Copilot for the same hospital contracts, and its distinct pitch is breadth of workflow — dictation, ambient notes, orders, chart questions and coding in one assistant — plus a partner API that lets other health-tech vendors build on it. It is sold to organisations, so a solo clinician will not find a price or a trial; the decision is a procurement one about EHR fit and which of the four named systems you run.

Pros

  • One assistant spans pre-charting, ambient notes, dictation, orders, patient instructions and coding
  • Deep, real-time integrations named for Epic, Oracle Health, athenahealth and MEDITECH
  • Partner SDKs and APIs — more than 30 technology partners already embed it
  • Well funded ($90 million Series E in October 2026) and used by more than 450 healthcare organisations

Cons

  • No public pricing, trial or individual sign-up
  • Revenue-cycle and coding features are the newest layer and depend on deployment-specific validation
  • Value hinges on the EHR integration project, not on the app itself
  • Vendor-published outcome figures (per-provider financial impact, time saved) are self-reported through a sponsor-funded validation

Which one fits

Choose Nabla if you need

  • Clinics and health systems on Epic, athenahealth or Oracle that want ambient notes without a separate dictation tool
  • Clinicians who want coding suggestions attached to the note rather than a second pass
  • Groups that need HIPAA, SOC 2 and ISO 27001 paperwork before a pilot

Choose Suki if you need

  • Health systems on Epic, Oracle Health, athenahealth or MEDITECH that want notes and orders written back in real time
  • Clinicians who switch between dictation and ambient capture depending on the visit
  • Health-tech companies that want to embed ambient documentation through SDKs and APIs instead of building it
