What our research says

Abridge

Abridge is the enterprise ambient scribe with the longest customer list in US hospitals, and the thing that sets it apart is that every sentence in the draft note can be traced back to the moment in the recording it came from — which is what makes clinicians trust it enough to sign. It is bought by health systems, not clinicians: a solo practice cannot sign up, see a price or try it without an organisation behind it.

Pros

  • Each note element links back to the transcript and audio, so verification is built into the review step
  • Deployed at more than 300 health systems, including the largest US academic and integrated networks
  • Covers 14-plus languages and 50-plus specialties, with revenue-cycle, nursing and chart-assistant modules on the same platform
  • Free clinician apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android alongside the EHR-embedded experience

Cons

  • No public pricing, trial or individual sign-up; procurement goes through the health system
  • App-store reviews report dropped findings and occasional record-button failures, so notes still need a careful read
  • Value depends on a deep EHR integration project, not on installing an app

Suki

Suki competes with Abridge and Microsoft's Dragon Copilot for the same hospital contracts, and its distinct pitch is breadth of workflow — dictation, ambient notes, orders, chart questions and coding in one assistant — plus a partner API that lets other health-tech vendors build on it. It is sold to organisations, so a solo clinician will not find a price or a trial; the decision is a procurement one about EHR fit and which of the four named systems you run.

Pros

  • One assistant spans pre-charting, ambient notes, dictation, orders, patient instructions and coding
  • Deep, real-time integrations named for Epic, Oracle Health, athenahealth and MEDITECH
  • Partner SDKs and APIs — more than 30 technology partners already embed it
  • Well funded ($90 million Series E in October 2026) and used by more than 450 healthcare organisations

Cons

  • No public pricing, trial or individual sign-up
  • Revenue-cycle and coding features are the newest layer and depend on deployment-specific validation
  • Value hinges on the EHR integration project, not on the app itself
  • Vendor-published outcome figures (per-provider financial impact, time saved) are self-reported through a sponsor-funded validation

Which one fits

Choose Abridge if you need

  • Health systems rolling out an ambient scribe across many specialties at once
  • Clinician groups already working inside a major EHR who want the note drafted in their existing workflow
  • Organisations that need to audit AI-generated notes against the source conversation

Choose Suki if you need

  • Health systems on Epic, Oracle Health, athenahealth or MEDITECH that want notes and orders written back in real time
  • Clinicians who switch between dictation and ambient capture depending on the visit
  • Health-tech companies that want to embed ambient documentation through SDKs and APIs instead of building it
