MyShell began as a platform for building and sharing AI bots, and directories still list app.myshell.ai as an AI-girlfriend destination. That URL now redirects to MyShell Art, an image and video generator: upload a selfie and pick from 200-plus portrait styles, headshots, makeup try-on and cartoon filters, or run upscaling, background removal and image expansion. The site also carries an explicit 18+ product section. Subscriptions meter a daily credit allowance rather than unlimited use, and the company, founded in 2023, also issues a $SHELL crypto token listed on several exchanges.
Basic is $7.49/month billed yearly ($9.99 monthly) for 30 credits a day, roughly 15 images; Pro is $49.99/month billed yearly ($69.99 monthly) for 120 daily credits, watermark-free output and featured models. PayPal checkout was disabled when we looked.
Use tool ↗If you want cheap styled portraits from a phone photo, the Basic tier is priced low and the style library is large. What you should not expect is the character-chat product the name is still known for, because the app URL now lands on an image generator instead. The credit-per-day model also means the cheap tier is about 15 images a day, not a free-for-all.
Watch out: art.myshell.ai hosts an explicit 18+ product section on the same domain as the portrait tools.
