Muapi vs reAPI

Two fact sheets from our own research, side by side — pricing, platforms, API access and status re-checked by us rather than quoted from the vendors. Muapi starts at $0.03, reAPI at $10. Only reAPI has a free tier. Both ship a public API.

What our research says

Muapi

Charging nothing for failed generations is the detail that matters here — with video models a failure rate of a few percent is real money. Per-response cost reporting and a pre-submission estimate endpoint make budgeting possible rather than retrospective. The catch is that the pricing page renders an empty comparison table, so you have to read the docs to learn what anything costs.

Pros

  • More than 500 image, video and audio models behind one API
  • Failed tasks cost nothing, which is unusual in this category
  • Every response reports the exact charge in dollars and credits
  • An estimate endpoint prices variable-cost jobs before submission
  • CLI tooling and a white-label option are available

Cons

  • The public pricing page rendered an empty model comparison, so rates are only findable in the docs
  • No minimum top-up or credit expiry policy is documented
  • The claimed savings against direct provider APIs are a vendor figure with no method shown
  • The operating company is only visible in the copyright line and the support email domain

reAPI

The appeal is not having six vendor accounts and six billing relationships: one key, one balance, one job format across text, image, audio and video. Automatic refunds on failed generations and non-expiring credits are the sort of details that only matter once you have been burned. Against that, nobody is named as the operator, which is a real question for anything you put in production.

Pros

  • One REST endpoint covering image, video, audio, chat and text models
  • OpenAI-compatible bearer auth, so existing clients mostly just repoint
  • Failed generations are refunded automatically and credits do not expire
  • Free starting credits with no card, and top-ups from $10

Cons

  • No company name, country or team is published anywhere on the site
  • Async submit-and-poll adds latency compared with a direct streaming call
  • Prepaid balance means money sits with the vendor before you use it
  • Per-model rates are not summarised on the pricing page

Which one fits

Choose Muapi if you need

  • Products that call several image or video models and want one integration
  • Agencies reselling generation under their own brand via the white-label option
  • Workloads where per-job cost has to be known before the job runs

Choose reAPI if you need

  • Prototyping across several model families without opening accounts at each provider
  • Codebases already speaking the OpenAI request format
  • Workloads too spiky for a monthly commitment
