What our research says

Mixar

Mixar's angle is dispatching AI agents to do Blender's more mechanical steps, unwrapping, retopology, baking, in the background while a person keeps working, rather than replacing the modeling process outright. Being free to download with your own API keys lowers the barrier to try it, but it also means real usage cost depends on which model provider you plug in.

Pros

  • Automates UV unwrapping, retopology, and baking as background tasks
  • Built directly on Blender rather than a separate closed editor
  • Free to download and activate before paying anything
  • Works with external model providers like OpenRouter for flexibility

Cons

  • Exact subscription prices are not visible without visiting the checkout flow directly
  • Bring-your-own-key model adds a second, variable cost on top of any subscription
  • No stated company location or founding details

Spline

Spline is the quickest route from a design brief to an interactive 3D scene on a web page, and the AI tools shorten the asset work that used to require a modeller. It is a design tool, not a renderer or a game engine: pick it for landing pages, product hero scenes and prototypes, and expect the credit meter to shape how freely you use the generative features.

Pros

  • Browser and desktop editors with live collaboration and exports to web, iOS, Android, video, USDZ and STL
  • AI agent, 3D generation, texture and image generation are included from the $12 Hobby seat
  • A usable free seat for learning and personal files, with the only hard limit being a watermark on web exports
  • Delaware corporation with terms updated in September 2026, a sign the product is being maintained

Cons

  • Generative features burn monthly credits that do not roll over, with extra credits at $5 per 1,000
  • App-store and video exports start at the $25 to $30 Pro seat, not Hobby
  • Per-seat pricing adds up for a team, and version history and SSO are Enterprise-only
  • No public API; automation runs through MCP tool calls with limits that scale by plan

Which one fits

Choose Mixar if you need

  • Technical artists who want to offload repetitive Blender steps
  • Solo creators and small studios without a dedicated technical artist
  • Architects and designers who need 3D scenes without deep modeling skill

Choose Spline if you need

  • Product and brand designers adding interactive 3D to websites and app onboarding
  • Teams prototyping spatial and visionOS interfaces without a full 3D pipeline
  • Designers who want AI-generated textures and objects inside the same editor they lay out in
