Use tool ↗About Jumper
Jumper indexes hours of video footage on the editor's own machine so they can instantly find visual content, spoken words across 111 languages, or specific people, without uploading anything to the cloud. It works as a standalone desktop app on Mac and Windows, or through plugins for Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Avid Media Composer. It targets solo editors, documentary and reality TV teams, corporate producers and wedding videographers; the site names VICE, The New York Times, Best Buy and Snowflake as users. Standard Jumper is sold as a one-time lifetime license per seat; Jumper Pro, which adds facial recognition and agentic editing features, is available as a separate monthly, yearly or lifetime purchase. It's made by Witchcraft Software AB, a registered company in Sweden.

Pros & cons of Jumper
Jumper's local, offline indexing is the standout feature for editors who can't or won't upload client footage to a cloud service, and NLE plugin support across all four major editors is broad. Standard Jumper's one-time price is a real advantage over subscription-only competitors, but facial recognition and the more advanced agentic features are locked behind Pro, which does carry a subscription option.
Pros
- Speech search across 111 languages
- Works fully offline with local processing, no footage leaves the machine
- Plugins for all four major NLEs plus a standalone app
- One-time lifetime pricing option on the Standard tier
- Named enterprise-scale customers (VICE, The New York Times, Best Buy)
Cons
- Facial recognition and swarm/agentic analysis are Pro-only, at a higher price
- $169 upfront is a bigger commitment than a low-cost monthly trial
- Registered as a small Swedish company, so long-term support scale is unproven
Best for
- Documentary and reality TV editors searching hours of raw footage
- Editors with client confidentiality requirements who need offline, local processing
- Teams already standardized on Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Avid
Not for
- Editors who need facial recognition or agentic editing without paying for Jumper Pro
- Teams wanting a pure cloud-based, no-install search tool
Watch out: Facial recognition and people search, a headline feature in some marketing, only ships in Jumper Pro, not the $169 Standard tier.
