Overview

About FutureSearch

FutureSearch runs teams of AI research agents that answer forecasting questions - probabilities, numbers, dates, which-one choices and conditional scenarios - and can also add a researched column to every row of a list. Each forecast costs roughly $0.25 to $5 depending on effort and difficulty, charged on tokens used, and monthly plans lower those rates and raise how many researchers run at once. It was founded in 2023 by Metaculus alumni and connects to Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex and Cursor through an API and MCP. The company publishes its standing in Metaculus and ForecastBench tournaments and its positions on Kalshi, Polymarket and the S&P 500.

How we collect these records

Editorial verdict

Pros & cons of FutureSearch

high confidence

Built by people who ran forecasting at Metaculus, and it backs that pedigree with a public accuracy record against live prediction markets and bot tournaments rather than just claiming to be good at forecasting. Usage pricing is fair for occasional questions, and the new monthly plans only discount the meter, so costs still scale with how many forecasts you run through the API.

Pros

  • Publishes accuracy track record against real markets like Kalshi and Polymarket
  • Handles multiple question types: probability, numeric, date, category, conditional
  • MCP connector for Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and ChatGPT Codex
  • Founders previously built forecasting tools at Metaculus

Cons

  • Token-metered pricing makes total cost hard to predict at scale
  • Monthly plans discount usage rather than include unlimited forecasts
  • High-effort forecasts run up to about $5 per question, which adds up on multi-part questions

Best for

  • Teams that need a probability estimate on a specific question rather than a broad research report
  • Developers wiring forecasting into Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor via API/MCP
  • Anyone who wants a forecaster with a published track record

Not for

  • Users who want a flat fee with no metered usage on top
  • General web research unrelated to forecasting a specific question or list

Watch out: The per-question figures on the pricing page are typical ranges; you are charged for tokens actually consumed, so a hard question can cost more than the range shown.
