What our research says

FlowGPT

Come here for character roleplay and to see what prompts real people actually run, not for a curated prompt resource you would use at work. The catalogue is unmoderated, much of the front page is adult roleplay, and the original prompt-engineering angle has largely been abandoned.

Pros

  • genuinely large user-generated catalogue with voting, bounties and leaderboards
  • the free tier covers most chat use without a card
  • prompts and characters run in place, so you can test before copying anything out

Cons

  • no quality control, so duplicate and low-effort entries dominate discovery
  • the useful prompt-library function has been crowded out by roleplay characters
  • no API and no export, so nothing you build here moves to another stack
  • the operating company has rebranded and spread across other consumer apps, which puts the site's roadmap in question

Prompty App

Prompty does one narrow job — turning a vague prompt into a clearer one — for $10 a month once the two-chat free history runs out. It is a rewriting step you paste elsewhere, not a prompt library or a chat interface of its own, and there is no visible team behind it to vouch for how the service is run.

Pros

  • Free plan has no cap on the number of rewrites, only on saved chat history
  • Theme picker gives a starting structure for common use cases
  • Single-screen workflow with no setup or install

Cons

  • No company name, address, or team page found anywhere on the site
  • Only rewrites text — you still copy the result into ChatGPT yourself
  • No browser extension or mobile app, so switching tabs is manual

  • Someone who asks ChatGPT questions daily and wants tighter phrasing
  • Beginners unsure how to structure a request
  • Anyone who wants themed prompt starting points for marketing or dev work
