Use tool ↗About Elvean
Elvean is a native macOS app that puts more than 300 cloud models (Claude, GPT, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek and others through your own API keys or OpenRouter) and local models from Ollama, LM Studio or MLX into one interface instead of a browser tab per provider. The free version covers unlimited conversations with any of them. Pro adds projects with a knowledge base the model can read and write, web and image search, inline charts, maps and tables, MCP connectors and exports. It runs on Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 15 or later and needs no account.

Pros & cons of Elvean
Elvean's pitch is one native Mac app instead of a dozen browser tabs for different AI providers, and the SwiftUI build shows in fast, native-feeling charts and tables inside chat. The free tier is real, not a trial, and already reaches every cloud and local model; Pro is about the workspace features - projects, search, charts and connectors - and the app is Mac-only.
Pros
- Free tier genuinely works with local and cloud models, not just a trial
- Interactive charts, sortable tables, and maps render inline instead of as static text
- Threaded conversations let a side question branch off without derailing the main chat
Cons
- Mac-only and Apple Silicon only, so it is useless on Windows, Linux, mobile or Intel Macs
- Web search, charts, projects and MCP connectors require Pro
- No web or team-sharing option for the workspace
Best for
- Mac users who bounce between several AI chat providers daily
- People who want to run local Ollama models with no subscription at all
- Anyone who wants calendar, weather, and Maps data pulled into a chat
Not for
- Windows or Linux users
- Teams needing a shared or web-accessible workspace
Watch out: Cloud models still need the user's own API keys from each provider, so Pro removes friction but does not cover model usage costs.
