What our research says

CloudCLI

Infrastructure rather than an agent: it gives CLI coding agents a machine that stays up when yours does not. Starting a task from a phone and finishing it in VS Code against the same environment is the thing it does that nothing else in this list does. At EUR 7 a month for one environment the entry cost is trivial, but you still pay your model provider separately.

Pros

  • Session and environment state persist across phone, browser, VS Code and SSH
  • Supports five different CLI agents rather than locking you to one vendor
  • REST API, webhooks and n8n nodes for wiring runs into automation
  • Entry tier is about eight dollars a month for a single environment

Cons

  • No free tier on the published pricing
  • Model usage is not included; you still pay your agent provider's own bill
  • Team plan caps five environments across five people, which is one each
  • The company behind it is not named beyond the product; only Netherlands law is stated

E2B

E2B is infrastructure for developers who ship agents that need to execute code or use a computer safely, and it gives a clear SDK for that single job. The open-source runtime and bring-your-own-cloud option help teams with data-residency rules. It is not a coding assistant or an agent in itself, and costs scale with sandbox runtime rather than a flat fee.

Pros

  • Apache-2.0 runtime with Python and JavaScript SDKs, plus code-interpreter and desktop packages
  • Pause, snapshot and fork lifecycle, and per-second billing while a sandbox runs
  • Egress policies and a secrets vault keep keys out of the sandbox
  • Managed cloud in US, EU and APAC or bring-your-own-cloud on AWS, GCP and Azure; SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA are claimed

Cons

  • Pro starts at $150 a month before any usage, which is steep for a hobby project
  • Free sessions are capped at one hour
  • Usage pricing needs a calculator to forecast, since CPU and memory are metered separately

Which one fits

Choose CloudCLI if you need

  • developers running Claude Code or Codex sessions that outlast a laptop lid
  • checking on or steering a long agent run from a phone
  • teams wanting agent runs triggered by webhooks or n8n

Choose E2B if you need

  • Teams building coding, data-analysis or computer-use agents that must run untrusted code
  • AI labs that need thousands of short-lived environments for evaluations or reinforcement learning
  • Enterprises that want agent sandboxes inside their own cloud account
