Use tool ↗About ByThen
ByThen produces finished, narrator-led videos in one guided workflow: it writes the script, generates a reference image and storyboard, adds voiceover, music and sound effects, and edits everything into a downloadable MP4 of 30 seconds to 30 minutes. It is aimed at creators making faceless YouTube content, explainers and other structured storytelling who currently chain several AI tools by hand. A built-in multi-track editor trims or replaces clips without regenerating the project, and an MCP server lets agents such as Claude drive production. Exports are currently fixed at 720p and 25 fps. It runs in desktop browsers and is operated by ByThen Pte. Ltd. of Singapore.

Pros & cons of ByThen
ByThen is built for creators who want one workflow to go from script idea to finished narrated video instead of chaining separate script, voice, and editing tools together. It's browser-only with no mobile or offline option, and the free tier is a 30-day trial rather than a permanent free plan.
Pros
- Handles script, visuals, voiceover, music, and editing in one workflow
- Outputs a finished MP4 ready to publish, not just raw assets
- Higher tiers lower the per-credit cost and extend maximum video length
- Recently closed a $5 million seed round, suggesting active development funding
Cons
- No mobile app or offline mode — desktop browser only
- Free access is a 30-day trial, not an ongoing free tier
- Exports are fixed at 720p and 25 fps for now, with 1080p and 4K listed as coming soon
Best for
- Faceless YouTube channel creators
- People making explainer or educational videos who don't want to learn a full editor
- Creators currently juggling separate script, voice, and visual tools
Not for
- Anyone wanting to work offline or on mobile
- Users who want a permanent free tier rather than a time-limited trial
Watch out: The free trial is time-limited to 30 days, not a permanent free tier — confirm you can finish evaluating it in that window.
