BookScribi
Pricing per finished book rather than per word is genuinely easier to reason about if self-publishing is the goal, and the KDP-shaped exports save a formatting step. Against that: it is still in beta, there is no free tier to test the writing quality, and you cannot find out who you are buying from.
Pros
- Exports DOCX and PDF already sized 5x8 for Amazon KDP
- Priced per book, so the cost of a title is knowable up front
- Handles structure and chapter breakdown, not just prose
- Per-book rate falls from $31 to $19 on the larger plans
Cons
- No free tier or trial; the cheapest look costs $29
- Still labelled Beta on its own home page
- No company name, address or jurisdiction anywhere
- Pricing page renders nothing without JavaScript
