Use tool ↗About Athena AI
Athena AI is a study app built around material you already have. Upload PDFs, Word files, slides, images, code or plain text and it produces summaries, flashcards and quizzes from them, with a chat window for follow-up questions. Progress is gamified with points, achievements and leaderboards, which is most of what separates it from the many other document-to-flashcard tools. The free tier gives three upload credits and lets you earn more by referring people; Premium removes the upload cap and allows several documents at once. The bare athena.study domain has no DNS record — only the www host loads. The terms place the operator under Serbian law and name no company.

Pros & cons of Athena AI
Athena covers the standard student loop — upload, summarise, flashcards, quiz, chat — and adds leaderboards and achievements, which is a real motivator for some people and noise for others. At $6.99 it is priced below most rivals. Against it: a three-credit free tier that barely lets you evaluate, no named company, and a bare domain that does not even resolve.
Pros
- Accepts PDFs, Word, slides, images, code and plain text
- Generates summaries, flashcards and quizzes from one upload
- Gamified analytics with rewards, leaderboards and achievements
- Premium is $6.99 during the launch discount, below most rivals
Cons
- Free tier is only three upload credits
- No company name published, only a Serbian jurisdiction clause
- Web-only, with no mobile app
- Terms state outright that the price may increase
Best for
- students turning lecture PDFs into flashcards and practice quizzes
- people who study better with streaks, points and leaderboards
- anyone wanting one place for notes, chat and self-testing
Not for
- institutions that need a named vendor and a data agreement
- anyone needing offline or mobile app access
Watch out: Only www.athena.study resolves — the bare athena.study domain has no DNS record, so links to it fail outright.
