Scores stocks and your portfolio from alternative data — Reddit chatter, web traffic, app downloads and hiring trends
AltIndex ranks equities on a 0-100 score built from signals that are not in the financial statements: social media volume, website traffic, app download trends and job postings. It scores a portfolio you connect or enter, pushes real-time alerts when a signal moves, publishes its own stock picks and answers questions through a chat interface. There are iOS and Android apps with push notifications, a documented API at api.altindex.com and an MCP server for wiring the data into other assistants. The terms name AltIndex LLC, a subsidiary of Invested Inc., and state plainly that it is not a broker, financial adviser or investment adviser, and that subscriptions are non-refundable.
A free account tier exists. Starter is $29/month or $199/year; Pro is $99/month or $499/year. The site advertises these as $0.97 and $3.30 a day, which is the same money framed smaller. Payments run through Stripe and the terms state a no-refund policy.
Use tool ↗Alternative data is a real edge when it is timely, and AltIndex packages four legible signal families — social volume, web traffic, app installs, hiring — into a single score with alerts and an API. The scoring is opaque, though, and the marketed 61% win rate is the vendor's own unaudited number. Read the terms first: they disclaim adviser status and rule out refunds.
Watch out: The terms explicitly say AltIndex is not a tax advisor, broker, financial advisor or investment advisor. Treat every pick as a screen, not a recommendation.
