Open-source weights are free to download. Tencent Cloud's international billing page sells HY 3D Global credits in USD: 1,000 credits for $15 (valid one year) down to $0.0135 per credit on the 100,000 pack, or $0.02 per credit postpaid; other Hunyuan APIs on the Chinese cloud are billed in CNY.

Hunyuan is Tencent's foundation-model line and the web studio around it: large language models, HunyuanImage for image generation, HunyuanVideo for text- and image-to-video, world models, OCR, and a 3D engine that turns text, images or sketches into textured, topology-optimized assets. Many models ship as open weights on GitHub and Hugging Face, where the Tencent-Hunyuan organization publishes new repositories almost daily. Hosted access runs through Tencent Cloud APIs, and the international 3D service, now branded Tencent HY 3D Global, sells credit packs in US dollars alongside a free daily quota in its web studio. The main Chinese portal and much of the documentation are Chinese-first.

Pros & cons of Tencent Hunyuan
One of the broadest open-weight portfolios anywhere - video, image, 3D and world models released at a fast cadence and usable locally without per-call fees. The friction is practical: portals and docs default to Chinese, hosted access runs through Tencent Cloud SKUs, and each model carries its own community license with acceptable-use terms to read.
